Before you choose

How long is a Brazil journey, and what does it cost?

A two week route combining Rio, the Amazon and the Pantanal starts at around US$3,000 per person for the time on the ground, with international and internal flights separate. Roughly US$200 to US$400 per person per day is the planning figure. Two weeks suits a first trip, three once the northeast comes in.

Is a private guide included on every journey?

Yes. Every route here is privately guided in English, with all transfers and hand picked accommodation included. We run no group departures and no fixed dates, so the pace is yours. Where a stretch is better handled by a specialist local guide, we say so and book that person instead.

How far ahead should we book a Brazil journey?

Three to six months for most of the year, and more for December to February, New Year and Carnival, because the pousadas and lodges we work with are small and fill early. We hold the rooms as soon as your dates are firm. Shorter notice still works, it only narrows the choice of where you sleep.

Do you book the flights as well?

International flights are never part of our rates and we do not sell them. Brazilian domestic flights are quoted separately and usually booked through us, so they line up with lodge arrival days, boat departures and transfer windows, and so we can rebuild the day if one is cancelled.
